Question by swf2020: Support Buck’s Bill (the Pet Safety and Protection Act)?
The Humane Society is asking for our help in getting Buck’s Bill, an amendment to the 2007 Farm Bill, that prevents stolen cats and dogs from being sold into research become law.
All you have to do is click on the link below, type in your information and click on “Send this message.” The message is the letter provided by the Humane Society. The letter is sent to your state senators. Thanks!!
Answer by greenie I signed it, although I believe it is rare these days for stolen cats and dogs to be sold. Researchers scan cats and dogs for microchips and look for tattoos on the animals just in case. Most animals sold to class B dealers are from the “free to a good home” ads in newspapers. That is why it’s a bad idea for people to just give away their pets. Anybody could take them. Also pounds in some states (including mine) require that animals not adopted be sent to laboratories.
