Question by ChihuahuaLove(:: Dog Lookout Booster Car Seats?
I currently have one chihuahua and I will be buying another one soon in June. My family and I take camping trips often and I usually just hold Bella(my chi) in my lap which is not safe. So I have been looking into different kinds of car seats that will hold two small chihuahuas that will weigh at most 12 pounds combined with both their weights. And the small lookout seats hold up to 18 pounds which is plenty big.
Question is which size should I get? Can you give me direct links to some. I plan on putting them both in one car seat and getting two harnesses to attach to the seatbelt. (That is possible with a small 18 pound limit dog car seat right?)
btw**I like the car seat that are soft pink in colors.lol.

I like most people take my dog for car rides. I use a safety harness for her safety. I’m having issues though because she is all over the place trying to look out the window. I have a pom who is only 5 pounds so she cant see out when restrained. I have looked into these doggy car seats and some are expensive while some are cheaper too. The only issue now is we have a VW bug with a shelf in the back. If you don’t know what that means it is we only have two seats and a high flat carpet surface in the back. I have considered making a homemade car seat permanent back there. Our dog is usually always with us since she makes a good travel companion. I want to make her a custom seat back there. Lots of foam and fabric and it will be restrained to the cars body. It will be like the look out car seats so she can see out the window. I want her behind me because her current harness is the kind that is hooked to my seat belt and I don’t think this is safe since my belt is a lap belt. I know this may not seem safe a homemade car seat but I’m not asking opinions about that I want to know how to make it safe. Oh yeah don’t tell me just to leave her at home if I was going to do that I could have thought of that on my own. Thanks for all the input.
I really do like the nice suede doggy lookout seats and have considered buying one and figure out how to keep it in one spot. Has anyone done this do you think I could hook it to the back of my seat? It would be half way up to where the shelf meets it.
i don’t have a head rest in this car. well there is a part for you head it just isn’t like the ones you see today. i just need to know a type i could hook to the back of a seat. or how i can make my own.

hahaha they have doggy carseats NOW?! whats next?
if your dog cant see out the window you need a bigger dog.
