My friend is having difficulty with her two large labs when she drives, because she has a small car so they can only go into the back seat but despite their size they are still convinced that they can fit between the front seats and get up front. this is pretty dangerous for my friend while she’s driving, so she can never take them anywhere by herself, like the vet or out to a dog park or anything.

her birthday’s coming up, and i want to get her something useful, so i was wondering, in this situation, which would work better to keep the dogs safely in the backseat: attaching both of the dogs to seat belt harnesses, or having one of those “backseat pet barriers” that just puts a wall between the front and backseat. For anyone that has had either of them, please help me out and if you have a brand you like, that would be useful too.

I would get the harness as they are more portable. I have used the harness for my dogs when I travel with them and it really helps keep them in their place, plus it will protect them in an accident. Harnessed, they will not become a projectile.

I currently have one chihuahua and I will be buying another one soon in June. My family and I take camping trips often and I usually just hold Bella(my chi) in my lap which is not safe. So I have been looking into different kinds of car seats that will hold two small chihuahuas that will weigh at most 12 pounds combined with both their weights. And the small lookout seats hold up to 18 pounds which is plenty big.

Question is which size should I get? Can you give me direct links to some. I plan on putting them both in one car seat and getting two harnesses to attach to the seatbelt. (That is possible with a small 18 pound limit dog car seat right?)
btw**I like the car seat that are soft pink in colors.lol.

Pet owners often use a collar for the purpose of restraining their dog or cat. Collars should not be used for restraint. Your dog or cat can easily escape from a standard collar and martingale and pinch collars can cause discomfort, they should be used only for for the purpose of training and attaching your pet’s identification (You should have your pet’s identification attached to their collar or harness at all times it only takes seconds to do with the tag-it pet id holder). A harness is the proper tool for restraining your dog or cat and attaching a leash. If you crate your pet remove their collar or harness before placing them in their crate in order to prevent them from being entangled. Choose the appropriate size harness for your dog or cat by measuring the circumference from around the belly behind the front legs to the top of the shoulder with no slack and adding five percent. You can do this easily with a flexible tape measure. For collar measurement measure the circumference around the neck with no slack and add five percent.

It is very dangerous to leave your pet on a tie out. They can become entangled and injure themselves. If you put your pet on a tie out only leave them on it for a short period of time and
NEVER leave your pet on a tie out without being supervised.
