Question by ddti: Shaking & Heavy trembling, What is going on with my dog and car rides?
when my dog rides in the car she trembles like crazy. She is a chihuahua but she NEVER shakes otherwise. And the second symptom of her distress is heavy panting. Her tongue hangs out like she is dying of thirst and she pants like crazy. WHAT IS GOING ON with her? I feel so bad that she is stressed. I have heard that she is just nervous or anxious not car sick. How do you discern between the two? There is no drooling and once she is out of the car it stops immediately.
**I did get her a car seat which has helped quite a bit, but not resolved it completely. What should I do??
ps she & I were in a car wreck several months back. Should I just continue her with car rides and she’ll eventually get better? or what should I do??

Best answer:

Answer by Christina
your dog is fine,
she is okay because this normally
happends just like humans dogs can get carsick?
so a good way to solve this is buying human gravel
break half off and give it to him,

Best answer:

Answer by furettesouriante
You are so right. What a dangerous thing to be doing! You can get seat belts for dogs if you want it right next to you. If people can go flying thro’ wind screens,so can dogs!

Question by Boss: Did your pet get blessed?
This past weekend, many churches blessed pets in honor of St. Francis of Assisi. Did you get your pet blessed?

My husband and I aren’t exceptionally religious but we do consider ourselves to be Christians. We got our dogs blessed on Sunday.

Yesterday I was in a relatively serious car accident with my dogs in the car. Louie was in my lap (we were in the front passenger seat) and Sydney was in the back seat. We strongly feel that they were protected because they were blessed. I’m still amazed that nothing happened to Louie since he was in my lab and I smashed my head.

Question by MiM: Are there any laws in California about driving with a dog in the passenger side of a car?
I like driving around town with my bulldog puppy with him in the front passenger seat of my car, but since he is getting so big now, he likes to sit in the back seat and stick his head out the window. I haven’t bought a harness for him in the car yet although I’m planning to, but he doesn’t disturb me while I’m driving. But I was wondering if there are any laws that prohibit dogs from riding in the passenger side of a car, or without any restraints, or any doggy in the car laws. Any good websites to see this information? Thanks for the help!

Best answer:

Answer by Claire G
I don’t think there are but I would be careful about letting him put his head out of the window as it’s not good for their eyes and ears. Especially for catching foreign objects.

A car harness is a great idea though for his safety and yours especially if you’re in an accident he won’t fly about the car.

Question by Paws: Which area is the best place to raise a family in Miami with safety and great schools being the top priority?
We have been looking on realtor.com at Weston, Cooper City, and Pembroke Pines. Which city do you think has everything you need without having to leave the city. I have a teenage daughter that will be driving soon, and I don’t want her driving on the freeways and near downtown Miami or Downtown Ft. Lauderdale.

We would also like a city who is pet friendly. We have 4 dogs.

Any and all information is appreciated!!

Best answer:

Answer by Kristen ♥
south miami is really friendly and it has lota of beaches so your teenage daughter will have fun

Bright Steps is the number one selling line of outdoor safety accessories for dogs in North America. www.fab4Pets.com Bright Steps incorporates both patented and revolutionary illuminating and reflective materials to keep you safe and seen at night. Visibility at night is a serious concern for the dog, the handler and motorist. Bright Steps Reflective Leg Bands are the most effective way to provide visibility at night because the reflective material is on the moving part of the dog. This allows motorists to clearly identify that there is a moving object up ahead. Bright Steps leg bands fit easily and comfortably on a dog’s legs for maximum night time protection.

Question by horn_hunter: Is the rottweiler a good family pet?
I know the Rott is an animal that has dominance issues. I understand that they need lots of attention and family members need not be timid around these powerful dogs. My question is this, I have two children by another marriage that visit often, Should I be concerned to their safety if I raise the dog from a puppy around them?

Best answer:

Answer by Emily | RIP Danny Boy
Not at all. As long as they are taken out often and socialized to lots of different people, of all ages (not just your kids), any dog is fine with people.

Question by jdecorse25: car seat covers for dogs?
I need a car seat cover for my sedan that I can still have my son buckled in teh back with. The covers that I have seen don’t have holes for someone to buckle-up with. Does anybody have an idea. I have leather seats and don’t want them messed up from our beagle.
I can’t just use a towel or sheet, my beagle would just knock it off the seat. He’s really active in the car.

Best answer:

Answer by Nicole
You would think just a typical car seat cover would do the trick. I dont know though. You would think that car seat / buckle holes would be pretty common.

Try google or ebay?
