It’s not the month of the year that brings fleas out, it’s the weather. Fleas are dormant in cold weather. When it warms up, they come out. Between now and the next cold spell in the fall/winter use Frontline or Revolution on your cats each month to prevent infestation. Remember: you can still bring fleas into the home by accident on your clothes and body. However, if your cats are protected, the fleas will not infest them.

Question by Chrissy: Why is it that when I call my local Animal Shelter?
Day or night I am either put on hold durring the night on my breaks and then durring the day when I call I am put on hold for up to 30 minutes and then they tell me that there are pets available but not unless I can pay up to $ 200 which I don’t have at this time…myself and my family have the money to take care of a dog or other animal in need such as food and vet bills…but I am not going to put $ 200 on my credit card to adopt the pet when I know that the money can go to that pets health and safety once we adopt him/her!

    Hello
I agree with you – but the price usually covers desexing of the animal, vaccination shots, vet treatment, flea treatments and health checks and food while the animal is at the shelter. Any remaining money will be used to help the next animals that come in – it really is a non-profit organisation. ღღღ

I’m addicted to freebies. Free shipping freebies! Because of my addiction, I’ve just signed up to receive free pet safety kits from the ASPCA for dogs, cats, and horses(Even though I don’t have any horses, ROFL), a bracelet, another bracelet, an “I love ranch dressing” bumper sticker, and a few other things! The free offers didn’t ask my age.

Do you know of any awesome freebies like these? I’ve done a lot of looking around.

Can a male unneutered dog be a good pet?

Question by Jason: Can a male unneutered dog be a good pet?
Sometime soonish I will be getting a dog – quite possibly a big ‘un like a German Shepherd. I want a male. However, I don’t like neutering animals. So my question is, can I keep an unneutered large dog in safety? Will he be very aggressive or hard for me to control when we come across other dogs, etc? SERIOUS input would be great, thanks.
I understand that realistically neutering is a good option, however, I dislike the notion of taking away an animal’s body parts to suit OUR needs. I believe that if that animal isn’t right for your lifestyle, you shouldn’t keep it at all. It’s like designer animals. Like it or not that is my opinion.
