Question by Jane Marple: Are you using a dog seat belt?
I got a dog seat belt this morning. It must be the stupidest invention or it’s me not using it properly! It’s a harness with a loop on the back. I am suppose to pass the car seat belt through that loop. The result is a dog tangled in the seatbelt, harness pulled to the left, dog pinned to the seat in a very uncomfortable position unable to sit and enjoy the ride.

I dont use one. They are actually more dangerous because they can strangle the dog.
I use a crate or just let my dog lose in the car. He proves no problem. He knows not to get in the front seat.

Question by T B: Dog car seat or booster seat?
Now that it is spring my 7 month maltipoo and I are making more trips in the car (to the dog park.) Up until now on quick trips she usually rides in my lap or the passenger seat and longer trips I put her in a laundry basket. But I am seeking a safer way to make car trips. I have been searching on line but does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations for car seats that have worked well you?
Crude comments are not welcome or useful. This is question is specifically about the safety of my dog. I am a proud owner of wonderful maltipoo. I could absolutely care less that she isn’t pure breed; after all I got her to love not to breed. It is not that I mind someone calling my dog a mutt its just those who like to jab those comments in just to be a nuisance is something I don’t appreciate. Thanks again for those of you contributing answers that actually apply to my question!!!

How about a dog seatbelt.. hooks onto the regular car seatbelt.. Keeps the dog safe, in the seat and the problem is solved..
